SRTM error in Elk 2.2

Just downloaded the latest version of Elk. I'm getting an error when import a 1-arc second Geotiff I downloaded from SRTM. The error reads: ...the type initializer for 'OSGEO.GDAL.GdalPINVOKE' threw an exception--see attached clip. Might this be a glitch in the latest version or is it my error?

I'm getting the same error.  When using 1-second and 1/3.

Hey Keith... you ever figure out how to get this working again?  I'm having the same issue with Heron's image importer as well as Elk.  It was working for me a few weeks ago (heron), but I wonder if something is interfering.
