Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Why does Sweep1 not act the same in Grasshopper as it does in Rhino, or am I wrong?

Hello all,

I stumbled upon this using the Sweep1 today and was wondering if anyone could answer this for me...

The GH object labeled 1 is being swept on a vertical rail and reaches the intended upper surface.  The GH object labeled 2 is being swept at an angle and does not reach the intended upper surface, even though the curve does.... The Rhino object was made using the Sweep1 command in Rhino and sweeps like I thought it would.

Any thoughts or help???

I'm using Rhino 5 SR3 and GH 9.0056

Thanks,

Jason

(Edited, not really a bug, sweeps don't really work the same as in Rhino)

Try moving the rail so that its Start point is at the End/Start point of your profile (see attachment)

Nice, I didn't know it would work if the rail was at the start/end point, thanks!

But, is there a reason for this?  Can we ask for it to work like the Rhino command?  It seems like more work to get component to work correctly, or as one might want to after knowing how they work in Rhino.... Especially if the sweep is more complex
