Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi!

Today i met something weird with my catenary component. When i tried to loft the curves created by catenary, i found some curves were flipped. You can see this from the image below, my end points are not on the same curve, then the loft became a twisted balloon... Can you guys pls tell me what happened here? Thanks!

Can you try to construct the whole geometry only on the positive x y quadrant. See if that fixes the issue.

Hi.

I have no idea why some of catenary curves generated In the opposite direction, anyway in ths case, "HCatenary" is more reliable.

Thank you for reply, i just did in that way in my attached file, and yes, it worked perfectly. But in fact i was just wondering what happened with this component... Btw i didnt find HCaternary, it belongs to some plug-ins or the lastest version of grasshopper?(im currently using 0.9.0076)

Visit here.

I ll have a look. Thank you so much

You can fix it by flipping the curves using a guidecurve, for example the first catenary.

Thas what i ended up with, but it needs some extra works. I mean this component used to work normally. For the latest update, i restarted my pc, tried with same curves, my old friendly catenary came back... Weird...
