generative modeling for Rhino
Hi does someone know how to fit a voronoi in a surface??
I just saw a discussion where they talked about voronoi in a sphere, and found the result i was looking for.. making a voronoi-like structure with pipes along the sphere.. but instead of the sphere, i need it to be in a surface.
Can someone help me??

Permalink Reply by Karen Cerda on April 13, 2011 at 11:11am Thank you very much!!! It was really helpful!! I'm just having some trouble, because in one of the skins it doesn't work, and I think it is because of the planes I'm using..
Hope you can help me again! =)

The pathmapper are not needed, but looks better this way:-)
The Join does not work because you have a different amount of curves (param shows 111 and 114 branches), but you can still ues it. Grasshopper ignores it.

thanks a lot
Permalink Reply by Dedackelzucht on October 6, 2011 at 2:54am The Logic is:
create a voronoi in plane (this is S-Base Srf)
then map onto a curved Srf (this is T- Targed Srf)

Permalink Reply by Dedackelzucht on October 6, 2011 at 3:09am First thing I would do is decompose your Pts. And set all y values to the same one.
then select the face the Pts are in (explodeBrep-output F- by item)
Have a look at my file above. at the bottom there is exatcly what I describe (besides the decompose)
Problem is the green Srf are not rectengular. What are you up to? that the voronoi is completly inseide each face or somehow?

Permalink Reply by EmilianoGH on October 6, 2011 at 3:17am well,
i would to connect a voronoi on each face (the green ) and I don't mean each face like a unique face....
Permalink Reply by Dedackelzucht on October 6, 2011 at 3:24am Ok,
I would do it like this:
- Create a bounding sphere
- search in the forum for -voronoi sphere-
- create the voronoi onto the sphere
- project the voronoic crvs onto the srf (brep)
how about this?

can I show you a brand new discussion that I opened for obtain one thing?
