Hi Bobby,
since 0.8.0011 Grasshopper has been compiled with newer runtimes. In short, you'll need to download and install the latest Microsoft C++ runtimes as per this post: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/grasshopper-080011-available

Same problem with grasshopper - doesn't launch. I really need it urgently and if anyone can help would be greatly appreciated
cheers

Permalink Reply by Jake Fraser Grousset on February 24, 2012 at 5:21am no it's just I think since I'm using a mac and on VMware I can't install those updates
Permalink Reply by Danny Boyes on February 24, 2012 at 5:36am Is your VMware up to date?
Permalink Reply by Jake Fraser Grousset on February 24, 2012 at 5:38am no but do you think that might really be the problem?
Permalink Reply by Danny Boyes on February 24, 2012 at 5:45am I'm not a mac user and I know McNeel do not support Rhino run on VMware, but it seems to me the fact that you cannot install the Microsoft updates based on what your VMware is telling you about processor type, leads me to think its something to do with what VMware you have installed.

if anyone else has any solutions please feel free :D

Permalink Reply by Danny Boyes on February 28, 2012 at 7:33am Just to clarify does the message come up when you try to install Grasshopper or when you try to install Microsoft Updates?
