Permalink Reply by Danny Boyes on February 28, 2012 at 7:54am What is the file name you are trying to install for the Microsoft Updates. Be very specific.
Permalink Reply by Danny Boyes on February 28, 2012 at 8:00am Doesn't matter I spotted the _IA64 one on your desktop. I'm guessing you don't have an Itanium Processor!
The File you need as Grasshopper is a 32-bit compiled software is the vcredist_x86.EXE version. Try this and see if you get a better result.

hi.I've got two problems...Hopefully someone could help with this:
1.the same problem in rhino4, and I've installed the latest Microsoft C++ runtimes. However, it did help....
2.something goes wrong with rhino 5...
Exception occured in plug-in Grasshopper
Method not found:'Void Rhino.Runtime.HostUtis.InitialzeRhinoCommon()'.

When's the last time you updated Rhino5?

I installed it today, and haven't updated it yet...

The error is because Grasshopper is trying to call a method in the Rhino SDK that doesn't exist. This method has been there for a long time and as far as I can work out should still be there now. This would mean that you are running a very old Rhino5 beta, or at least a very old RhinoCommon.dll file inside your Rhino5 beta. It's a bit puzzling.
What is the date on your Rhino5 banner?

Oh... It shows 18-May-2010...It must be an old version...
I'm new to Rhino, so how to update it ?

Rhino5 betas should update automatically, but it's possible this is blocked by a fire-wall or somesuch. You can get it here: http://download.rhino3d.com/rhino/5.0/beta/changes/
