algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I wonder if anyone can help me with an incredibly annoying issue?

I've not had tooltips for the last few months, over the span of a few updates.  I'm currently using 0.8.0052.  Any thoughts?  I am using a dual-screen setup, if that possibly makes a difference.  I've also tried pressing and releasing "Alt" key.  I am surprised to see no-one else has mentioned this.

Kind Regards,

Josh

Funny timing, but I had to change my primary screen today, and it fixed it.  Problem is, I don't want to have to have the screen order the way it is at the moment.  I know the tooltips are moved off-screen when not shown, and it looks like the positioning is going wrong if you change monitor order.

Thanks!

Hi Josh,

the problem appears to be that tooltips are moved to the back of the window stack, and are thus obscured and therefore invisible. You can 'repair' the problem by Alt+Tabbing to the tooltip window and then pressing Alt+F4 to close it. It will then get recreated anew the next time it is needed. Presumably after a while it will go missing again and you'll need to repeat Alt+Tab; Alt+F4.

I haven't yet been able to determine why this happens, when this happens and how to fix it without recreating the tooltip window (it's important to not recreate the window each time as it causes a short focus blip across the active window).
