yes it's possible.

What equation exactly. To provide an example?

I agree... definitely possible

EDIT: you edited your answer no fair!

LOL

for example, if i have an equation :

x^2=40

how can i find the value of x in grasshopper ?

I'm not sure if I follow.

Do you want to rearrange the equation and there for find the square root of 40

Or do you want to set up a much more complicated equation and have Grasshopper Solve rthe answer using Galapagos.

thank you! it seems it's the second option. I have a quite complicated equation, with one unknown. I would like grasshopper to find the solution of this equation. Is Galapagos capable of doing this?

Is it a plug in?

Galapagos comes with Grasshopper.

You just have to set up the fitness value to be 40 and hit start solver on the solvers tab.

Called me if I'm wrong but if there is only one solution to the equation then would be of no galapagos apart for the understanding.
A simple with compoment f (x) should be sufficient.

Regards

Have you tried Wolfram Alpha?

I do not really understand how galapagos works. I need to solve an equation that is quite complicated, in my grasshopper definition and extract the result of the unknown value. Is it possible?

Why don't you post the equation or a link to the equation
