Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Oddly enough Rhino does not allow multiple entries for "SelName" when using the command line version.

Unfortunately, GrassHopper doesn't seem to help here.

I can see that a name "filter" can be entered in the geometry pipeline component, but again just one name.

In particular, I would like to select a bunch of cells in Excel which contain strings and select the Rhino objects with the names corresponding to these strings.

I know that it could be scripted, but then it becomes cumbersome to edit the script and change the path of the Excel file, and define which cells you want to use.

I'm thinking of something more interactive...Any ideas ?

Cheers,

A script can have any number of inputs, so if it's written with flexibility in mind you shouldn't have to change the code if you want to change some variables.

The pipeline component name and layer filters support wildcards, so they can be used to a limited extent to refer to multiple objects with different names.

If you just plug a name (text data) into a Brep parameter, it will load the object of the same name from the current Rhino document. Does that help?
