Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey!

I'm trying to use RhinoNest for Grasshopper for lasercutting a sliced bowl. As you can see at the picture all circles are put perfectly side by side. For saving material it would be good to put the smaller circles in the bigger ones. Is it possible to do so with RhinoNest?

Best,

Cynthia

Hi all,

same problem here, if you have a solution, with Rhinonest or not, I will really appreciate ! :)

Thanks !

You can try a google search for something like, "material optimization nesting closed shapes." There's a lot of programs out there... PowerNest, for example, looks interesting.

Thanks for the answer Taz.

Unfortunately, I tried a range of nesting program without success...

So, in the end, I just cut circles in 2 pieces, a bit band-aid but I already spent to much time in this.

Maybe someone else will figure out the topic ;)...

Best,

Julien
