Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello Everyone,

I have Rhino + Grasshopper installed on my windows desktop, however, I will be traveling for a few weeks and will have to continue my project on my laptop which is a MacBook Pro (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 2 GB of ddr3 sd ram).

I'm curious as to how well Rhino + Grasshopper will run within snow leopard, if I were to use a program like vmware fusion? and whether 2 gb of ddr3 ram is enough or not?

Any help or experience regarding this matter will be greatly appreciated! The last thing I need is for my computer to crash as I'm using it as I will be involved in a series of workshops as well.

Thank you.

Hi Ali,

it should be fine. I sometimes use a windows pc and i sometimes use a mac with the same specs with leopard, parallels, windows, etc... I dont notice any substantial difference between the two. BUT there inevitablely will be some crashes, so be prepared.
Hello,

the best way u can go is using of Boot Camp software which is already installed on a Mac.
I have a MacBook Pro too and I have absolutely no problem with using of it, I am actually using Windows XP sp3, rhino 4 with GH 0.60059

good luck, Dmytro
Thank you all for the feedback. Carlos, I've been looking for a page like this for some time. Dmytro, how much ram are you using? I just ordered 6 gbs, so I'm hoping that will help.

Thanks.
