I click ''Yes'', then:

Somebody can help me please!!!???...
Thank you!!!...

Hi Danny,
I'm seeing this a lot lately, I don't know yet what is causing it. Does the copy fail, or is it the paste? If the copy doesn't throw errors, can you paste the clipboard contents into a text editor (notepad). It should be an xml string. I'd like to have this text.

It is the copying part failed in my case. Not the pasting part.

The copying part fail and then I can't paste the components!!!...

The copy part fail and then I can't paste any components!!!...

I improved (I hope*) the copying feature. It now tries 10 times using 10ms intervals, and if all ten attempts at putting data into the Windows Clipboard fail it will put it in a Grasshopper clipboard (can only be accessed from within a single Grasshopper instance, I could make something that can be used from all Grasshoppers running on the same system, but haven't decided yet).

* since I haven't been able to reproduce the problem on my machine, I can't really test the improvements.

I have got the same problem. I can't copy, paste or cut.
If I restart the computer copying or pasting works for a while but then it fails again at some point getting the same error message as Danny.

Very strange that this started happening all of a sudden all over the place. I hope we'll find out what's causing it, but in the meantime we'll need to wait until the next release goes out, which may be a while as there are still bugs left in the new data-matching algorithms I wrote and they need to be fixed before I can release.

Permalink Reply by Matthew Au on April 10, 2012 at 8:08pm Hello All,
This error occurs for me when I have either Internet Exploror or Google Chrome open. I get another strange copy error in Adobe Illustrator when I try to copy text objects, pasting will not remember my text attributes or placement and instead reverts to the default text.
When I close either IE or Chrome the problem is fixed in both grasshopper and illustrator.
I hope this helps...
Permalink Reply by Junichiro Horikawa on April 17, 2012 at 9:13pm Surprisingly copy/paste worked after I close Firefox.
Even though this is a temporal solution it's great that now I know the way to bypass the problem.
Thank you Matthew!

So Firefox, IE and Chrome are now all suspect? Most disturbing. At least the changes I made to the clipboard seem to have worked for Victor, so let's hope that once 0.9 goes out you can keep your browsers open while using Grasshopper.

Permalink Reply by Victor Leung on April 18, 2012 at 7:57am Sorry David, As you are speaking, I encountered the new decorated error message you talked about.
The copy content are successfully stored inside the application as you mentioned, which I can paste afterwards. But the error only happened once. So I guess your way of trying ten times are helping.
I have never tried to close Chrome (the only browser I use) while scripting.

Which is sort of to be expected. If a single attempt fails, then ten subsequent attempts will also sometimes fail. Perhaps the disruptive error message should be removed altogether when I switch to an internal clipboard.
