Output disconnect creates invalid connections

When a component is disconnected from the output (right hand) side the remaining connections become invalid.  I've noticed it on several components.

A second possible bug.

I'm noticing this just on retrieve list item.  When a series is connected the retrieve doesn't work, however when the series data is internalized then the retrieve works.  Like I said not sure if this is a bug or intentional and I just don't understand what is happening.
