one point per branch maximum distance between them

Hi all!

I have a set of points organized in branches and I want to select just one point from each branch, but I want all of them to be separated as much as possible. One point per branch, maximum distance between them. JPG attached. Suggestions?

Are the points in separate spacial clusters or are they mixed? If they are clustered, selecting the one point closest to the average of all points might be a good approximation.

What do you mean by separate spacial clusters? Command "Group of points" or if each item of the branches is closed to all the items that belong to this branch? They are not group of points and the branches are not close to each other...

I mean for each list of Points in a tree branch, could you draw a convex shape around them all and not have any Point from the other branches inside?

Nop, nothing like the "hull" command.

I might rearrange the lists, though. Indeed I could set them in a way that each list in a tree branch forms a line. However, selecting the one point closest to the average of all points won´t work for me. Because in some cases the point that is further away from the rest is the last one or the first one, not one of the ones in the middle.
