generative modeling for Rhino
Hello every one, I have been working on this mesh and Iwould like to put a kind of pattern on it. I have tried something like to make the pattern and then apply it on to the mesh, but did notwork.
Thanks the person who be interested to help me.

What do you mean by the type of image? Do you have an image that you would like to map onto the surface and extrude it according to color values assigned to it?
I am not able to understand the question. Please post the image about what you have in mind.
Permalink Reply by Andres on May 26, 2012 at 1:52pm ok, I would like to get something like the picture, but obviously with point attractors, How you can see in the file are a collection of meshes and I want to make a pattern on to the meshes , in the beginning I was thinking in something like to extrude the faces but I don't like the finished, so, I was thinking to get pyramids on the mesh and on some of them with holes, them defined by the point attractor.

Open the rhino file...... please
Thanks for your interest

What you can do is extract the mesh faces using Weaver bird face polyline.
Move these faces up by finding normals by using mesh evaluation. (Reference point attractor). You can use graph mapper too to control with point attractor.
scale the moved faces according to point attractorm
Weave the two curves you have now. And loft them.
explode the surface and make mesh from mesh surface, unify normals and weld the mesh, wb thicken and catmul clark.
You have your thing but affecting the entire surface. You can split the mesh and apply the definition on it so that it develops texture in specific area.
Don't be overwhelmed by the procedure its simple just try.
Best of luck buddy.

If you can please help me, ill upload the new work.
thanks
