Maintaining (Keeping) Null while changing tree branch pattern.

Hello,

I have encountered some problem when manipulating data tree.

I want to get rid of last piece of information in the tree branch, so I usually use "Shift paths" but this time i have a tree that contains empty branches. Therefore using shift paths is not ideal since it removes null from the list.

What is the best way to remove it? Would deconstruct and construct path is the solution or is there any other component I am not familiar with?

Kind regards,
Amaraa

P.S. I wish grasshopper 2 would have an additional feature for shift paths for toggling the remove null option.

In this scenario, I use the "Insert Nulls into empty branches" tool from Wombat (http://www.food4rhino.com/app/wombatgh) prior to the pshift - then you will have a null object wherever you had an empty branch and it will be preserved in the data.

Thank you mr.Andrew,

I have found that this problem was well known in grasshopper community so I've tried a lot of suggestion which has been discussed like 4-5 years ago. It was exactly as same as you mentioned by inserting null items in empty branches.

Once again, thank you for your time and letting me know the wombatgh tool. I will try it out :)
