generative modeling for Rhino

Hey guys,
I have a list of points in with x,y,z values and I want to separate them into 3 branch these points based on their Z-value. So all points with the same z-values to be grouped in a branch.
Anyone have any ideas?

here you can find def in which such grouping is made. there is a little vb script to place points in branches.

actually I was trying to organize a list of points according to their Z-value.
I managed to do it in the following way - check jpg
