generative modeling for Rhino

Hi,

 

I am trying to achieve something like what Michael Hansmeyer is trying to achieve here.

 

I have got this far but cannot get it to the same effect, I can only connect the skin up via the lines end points rather than the line itself? I think thats how Hansmeyer does it?

 

Any help much appreciated!

What I am trying to do now is that Doo-Sabin subdivision that Hansmeyer does. I have got this far..

but am unable to get the skin like geometry to intersect with the region component?
