Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi :)

I am trying to create an interactive roof that will adapt its shape according to a point that can move and the position of the sun (I am planning to change the point for the head of a person, using Firefly and a Kinect).

It is ment to create shade for people walking under this cover.

I am using Kangaroo 1 and I don't know if it is normal that my solver takes 10seconds to solve the geometry. When I add the Kinect and start tracking a person, it is to slow and bugs.

I have simply 2 springs: one for the membrane (in pink), one for the "rodes", that are holding the membrane (so the edges of the membrane) and trying to push it back. I flatten and unflatten everything, but without success in reducing the solver time.

I tried to do it also in Kangaroo 2, but as I am not that expert, it disappears when I start the solver and I can't figure out why. I think Kangaroo 2 should be faster.

Can someone tell me if my definition has something wrong or how to make work with the same behavior Kangaroo 2. I am adding a picture and the definition :)

Thanks a lot already! :)
