generative modeling for Rhino
I want to be able to move the numeric sliders, List Integers etc but not to move the whole slider from its position...
Does it makes sence?

You cannot lock any object at the moment. Why would you want to lock an object in place? Is it because you sometimes want to drag the slider grip and drag the whole slider instead?

Yes, and I hate to be organizing all in place all the time... It is not unguent, but I feel I need to ask.
Thanks David.

Andres,
Who keeps unfixing them? Did you know you can use Ctrl+Z to undo a component drag?

And I assume "they" change it by mistake? Or are you asking for a password-protect mechanism for files where you could limit certain actions?

Could be useful:
1) Restrict access to Script Components, Clusters etc.
2) Only allow sliders, toggles, graphs etc. to be altered.

They change it by mistake, may be they do not zoom in a lot, or just get the outside of the Numeric Slider or others etc... But I am not asking for a Password-Protect.... However, in the future, it will be nice to have that type of control for the whole definition... But I am not asking for that now...
Thanks David.

And when you add an extra component, do you have to drop it in exactly the right spot immediately, or are you allowed to move new objects around? Are you allowed to delete components? Are you allowed to change wires? Are you allowed to make groups?
I just want to know the circumstances for such a feature, because if all this is just a way to get around not having a Remote Control Panel, I think it makes more sense to invest into putting the RCP back in instead.

Permalink Reply by Sander Mulders on June 21, 2011 at 1:44am For actually getting the RCP back would be a blessing. At this moment I'm working on a definition that is going to be used by someone who is not familiar with grasshopper at all. So I want to make it as dummy proof as possible hence the locking of the canvas. The RCP would immediately solve all my problems since I can hide the grasshopper window completely.
If I think of a lock version I would like to lock everything but the sliders etc. So no creation of new elements, links etc.
