iPad/iPhone control of Rhino 5 + New Menu Designs.

Hey,

So we just added support for Rhino 5 control from the iPad, and we're about to release the iPhone app which will work with it also. Waiting for approval from apple now.

I posted up a video of it here (http://blog.maideinc.com/). I also posted up our future designs to bring over commands from Rhino to the iPad, so you can customize your own menu's.

Let me know if you guys have any feedback on how we planned to do it.

Hey Dude, can you give the app a shot? We just put it up for free for now with Camera Control. We're working out a few things. Search "CadRemote" on the iPhone/iPod app store.

wait a second, doesn't the 3gs have a gyroscope? How does it know when when to switch from landscape to portrait, and work in games with tilt control?

Hi Oleg!! Finally could try the iphone app and works very nice. Will be pretty to could move sliders somehow from the phone. I think is more precise, or at least more easy to do until get practice, to orbit with fingers, or decide how you want to do. Very cool work and best wishes with app. Best regards.

I've been experimenting with the iPhone to control rhino models during presentations. It works great! The gyro control really makes it easy to tumble etc.

Two questions:

Sometimes the connection seems to get lost and the only way to get it back is by closing both the app and rhino on the pc... Is this a know issue?
Is there a way, as on the ipad, to control your cursor using the iphone? Any quick/hidden menu or so available for that?

Anyway, I really appreciate the work on this! Has a huge amount of potential!

We're pushing an update as soon as apple approves. You'll have screenshot, sketching and mouse control.

The ipad will be customizable, to bring over any command from rhino and put it into a ring menu.

Connection lost... not sure, it might be solved in the next update with a new iphone app and a new server, let's see if it's fixed then and if it's not mention it again. We have support forums if you haven't seen them, it might be worth posting there. http://support.maideinc.com/
