Intersecting Connection Detail

Hi all, 

I am modeling the Media_TIC building for a class and am trying to find a more efficient way for modeling certain aspects.  Right now I am working on creating the flat connection plates that occur on the façade.  All theses connection plates are different and I have already created the latticework of lines where these connection plates occur.  I am wondering if there is way to make a definition that would basically offset the latticework lines, fillet the intersections, and then create a rounded cap for the parallel ends? 

Attached are pictures of the real building connections and then a diagram to help explain a bit better of what I am talking about, along with a picture of the latticework lines.   

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
