generative modeling for Rhino
What I am trying to do seems like it would be so simple, I don’t know what im doing wrong, and ive spent hours on the internet looking for solutions. Squares and tubes and spheres are all so simple, I just cant get this to work.
I am simply trying to build a pyramid. I have a base triangle, and I have a point defined where I want the surface to be extruded to, but I just cant get it set up.

either use, instead of the surface, a curve, or explode the resulting brep and extract only the surfaces you need. i would go with the first option.
Permalink Reply by Andrew Haas on March 4, 2011 at 2:22pm thanks, but i have a series of triangles all next to eachother touching, so if i use the curve it connects all the curves to all the points instead of just the surface edges to the nearest point. here are some pictures of what happens when i use the curve instead of the surface:
if extracted with a surface it works right but its a closed object:
if i extract with the surface curve it goes crazy.
if i attempt to extract only the surfaces i need from the results, thats easy if i do only one pyramid, but when i do 100's at a time there are too many surfaces to sort through and extract.
any further ideas would be great. here are the files.
thanks

Permalink Reply by Tudor Cosmatu on March 4, 2011 at 2:38pm changed it a bit. have a look and always check your tree structure if something goes wrong.
