how to determine max material flex thickness for a given radius & material

I'm trying to figure out how to go about determining the max material thickness that will allow a given material (like 304 steel) to flex for a given radius.

the purpose is to determine how thick of a material I can use for a given curved developable surface - see sample surface 

I'm wondering if there are formulas for this or if someone already made a GH function to solve this.
