algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Does any one knows how to create a branch without separating the geometry? Like tree branches from trunk? I know that in 3Ds Max I can just edit poly, it is possible to do so in Grasshopper? or do I to do everything separately?

Consider thinking in negative space, towards subtracting out via Boolean difference the spaces between the branches, from a box or cylinder. You can remove a lot of air space that way as long as you're Booleans never have failure prone closely touching surfaces instead of clear overlaps.

For much greater engagement with readers here, start including even crude sketches and initial scripts with both a screenshot of the script for those of us in bed using an iPhone, and an upload of even simple scripts so we don't have to search for obscure icons, along with doing a serious search of the forum to be able to include links to prior art threads about your topic.

For an ingeniously novel way to do plants via organic growth of single meshes, look into Phyllo Machine by Daniel Abalde:

It treats normal meshes a bit like T-Splines creates new features from faces but without so much formality.

That reminds me, the T-Spines (not free) Grasshopper plugin also may already include their new pipe command that gives a single surface around touching curves, as does Exoskeleton ( http://www.grasshopper3d.com/profiles/blogs/exoskeleton-cytoskeleto... ) and Cocoon ( http://www.grasshopper3d.com/xn/detail/2985220:Comment:1330879 ). There are various ways to thicken single line branching trees, to give fat branches, so if you can teach us good ways of creating branching curves or just lines, getting real branches is now easier than ever.
