Sure David! This components just released, and will require some tuning, but the idea itself it's awesome!

I don't realy know if there is any other CAD software that allows you to work with .pdb, in fact it seems a little excentric.. I can't see a direct aplication of this feature, but the idea is so original and creates so many possibilities.. I'm really impressed..

Ok, I am missing something so basic. I've done this before, but for the life of me. How do I install Grasshopper now?

Update: never mind, it was the (rather strange) change-zip-to-rhi-extension-thingie. Worked fine!

Grasshopper will load GHA files from more than one place. The best way to figure out what non-standard GHA files you've got is just to search your entire hard-drive for *.gha files.

Here's a list of locations:

Native GHA files (the ones that ship with Grasshopper) are located in a folder called Components next to GrasshopperPlugin.rhp. This folder is strictly just for me, but I know some 3rd party developers put their GHA files in there as well.

Simple 3rd party GHA files are usually loaded from the roaming appdata folder. On Windows 7 that is at: %appdata%\Grasshopper\Libraries but it may differ per Windows version. You can find this folder by running the GrasshopperFolders command and then selecting the [Components] command line option.

Grasshopper also looks for GHA files in all Rhino plug-in folders. It is not easy to predict what folders these are exactly.

There's a list of additional folders stored in Grasshopper settings. People can manually or programmatically add folders to this list. You can see this list if you run the GrasshopperDeveloperSettings command.

Finally, in 0.9.0050+ it is possible to put *.ghlink files into the appdata folder with absolute URIs in them. These serve as shortcuts to other locations.

Like I said, it's pretty complicated. Easiest is to just search your entire computer for *.gha files.

Hi Danny,

Basically I removed the old GH from Program files folder and install the new one, and then load it in Rhino5. I didn't try to load any file yet. just to load the GH plugin. If you could point it where what components I should remove manually, that will be very much appreciated. Thank you.

If you want to run Grasshopper Zip the PTComponentsLibrary and delete the original.

Until the problem is fixed or a new release of PTComponents comes along you will still have them safe in a zip file and GH won't try to load them.

Yes, it's easy to detect whether or not the ALT key is down. What turns out to be impossible is getting an event for WHEN the ALT key is pressed.
