Generating profile *.dat files from watertight *.3dm nurb files

Hello,

I have attached a Microsoft Word document that describes a requirement that I would have thought has been previously addressed by 3D CAD developers.  I have not been able to find a solution at this point.

Basically, the requirement is to convert sliced profiles of a watertight solid into a data file.  The method of slicing and the requirements of the data file are briefly outlined in the attached document.  The goal is to find a way for 3D CAD students to be able to use the existing aircraft design applications (VSP and FXLR5) by importing free form fuselage designs into the applications.  One method is importing an *.dat file that lists the profile data from each fuselage bulkhead cross section.  Incorporating a scaling factor would also be beneficial because the fuselage is typically scaled to a length of 1.

Thank you for looking over this request.  If anyone knows of an existing add on application to any of the 3D CAD applicaitons (Rhino, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, etc.), I would appreciate hearing about it.
