I link a plugin for grasshopper i was programming ... it approximates the minimum boundingbox. I hope this helps. You have to use 25 to 50 cycles to get a good result.

Got it, this is going to be a super useful component!  If I may make a suggestion, not sure the complexity, but it would be great to work with all geometry types!  but already like this it is quite useful and fast. Thanks!

Michael,

I believe this component broke with the new release (0.8.0011):

An error occured during GHA assembly loading:
  Path: C:\Users\luis\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries\Min_box.gha
  Exception System.TypeLoadException:
  Message: Could not load type 'System.Runtime.Versioning.TargetFrameworkAttribute' from assembly 'mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'.

Hi Luis,

I send you an update, i compiled against net 4.0. It is still buggy and somethimes does not work. The plugin only works with Rhino 5

It's working at my end with 0.8.0013 and Rhino 5.0

Hi Michael,

Could you please recompile your Min_box.gha again with the newest rhinocommon and grasshopper.dll? It seems to be not working on 0.8.0066 with 20120124 version of Rhino 5.0.

Gives you various option of geometries formfinding. Galapagos open a new field for open an closed spaces.
I will play around and looking for other solutions.

What mean the expression for the number components?
