algorithmic modeling for Rhino

So, i'm really rust in GH, i took some clourses in university but that was 4 years ago and now i can not remember much.

So right now i'm working as a freelance (you see a lot of weird requests under that kind of employment) and someone asked to make a door for their children.(they're are crazy for fishes) with a design of a shoal, bank of Fishes, in it. So the thing, is that i remember some things but i can't make it in order.

-This is the shoal concept that we created or sketched-

-These are the lines that we think can pull off the concept-

The thing is that i want to make something like the drawings a lot of fishes (of different sizes, but in a range of 5-8 cm) but all these fishes are acommodated along the curves (like the second bunch of drawings).

The thing is:

1.- Do i have to draw each curve? or i can draw bunch lines that get deformed when i put a point near of them (i remember that i did something like that in the school) and just playing around until getting something that resembles the concept?

2.- How can i do it in "2D" what i mean is that, i remember doing that (i put a point near of others, and the latter get small or big according of the proximity of the point).

Right now i only have the "door", and populated it with "populate points 2d" but i want to order it. Populate 2d is the correct tool? or do i have to stablish a lot of points with different coordinates?

Thank you for asking such simple questions, but i need help to really start.

since peters seems to be in holidays(hope he is well and enjoying some sardines) i will take care of the fish thing:)

Made just a very simple start. sorry for the mess just installed win the laptop still without driver for touchpad its hard to zoom etc.

tomorrow maybe i have time in lunchbreak. or someone else.just wanted to leave a start here.

Mate, you just saved my life.

Didn't thought on making it it in that way.

But now i have some questions.

1.- Is posible to do two atracttor points?
  --One for curving the curves
  -- Another one only to change the size of the fishes
 Or is it better doing it with only one point?

2.- Now, that that you got it, is it possible to "limit the curves?"
   -- What i mean is that we're gonna cut that door on laser, so we need a margin like 5-10 cm in        each part of the door "up,down,left, right"

3.- Is it better doing that after we bake it by trimming the results or can we have a better result in grasshopper.

1) I would do the Curves in Rhino, its ways faster I think, but there is a GH way.

2+3) just a offset(inset) of the rectangle when i understand you right

I am at work now but if you provide more information(a rhino file with a rectangle in door size and the fishes you want to place, maybe I can do it later.

So, i'm trying to do it myself (to learn the process) but there are three parameters that i do not fully understand or how do they work, if not bad, could you help me?.

In your definition there are these three.

-I don't know why did you put random?
Was because i did not provide information of how many fishes per curve?

What if i have a number of fishes per curve, how do i put it?

And what are the functions (on this specific definition) of List lenght and DAM, HFRAME and Cull Index; i don't know their functions. Sorry if i bother you, i'm very rust in Grasshopper and nearly forget everything i did learn, thank you.

to put specific fish count divide the curves by length i would say. Also it was made in a rush so not really nice. was just thought as a startpoint.

if you want i can help you but post your progress with the question written doen in a penel or with scribble or something.

I'm still remaking your definition and trying to learn from it, and until now everything is fine, except maybe some parts that i annotated in the definition.

1.- Why the frames are in different position from the points and not all of them are overlapped with the points is my main question now, while in your definition they were?.

Outside of that, everything is going fine, i'm learning a lot experimenting with it. this new definition is with the size of the door and made an offset of the limit of the curves.

If not an inconvenience, i will be glad if you could help me.

Hello, really thank you for your help.

Here's my last question for both of us.

I'm playing with an attractor curve or point. But when i play with it; it seems like the fishes copy themselves inside, like a lot of offset inside itself, i don't know why.

Hi, here's the last version of definitions, i'm almost there.

My last question is about attractor points, how do i make two of them? 

Digo, quiero que los dos afecten la definición al mismo tiempo pero que no se vea tan raro, hacer que el "campo de efecto" (osea diametro de efecto) sea un poco menor. Es que para lograr el efecto de bancos de peces, quiero que los peces de en medio sean un poco mas grande, osea, un punto a la izquierda y otro a la derecha, así los mas cercanos quedan pequeños y los de enmedio quedan grandes, bueno no tan grande, traté de hacerlo pero se ve medio raro.
