algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey guys! I really hope this doesnt get burried

what I am trying to reach is in the attached photo bellow, been tried to create a way to automate this instead of modelling this again and again, since the structure keeps on changing. I need to get an extrusion of the omega section along the lines that are pulled to the surface, the curves arent straight as they should be when creating the ruled surface ( they are projected ). the best case scenario for me is to find a gh plugin where I can choose any cross section, extrude it along a curve, and have the curve oriented to the surface's curved derivative at one point ( I really hope that there is such a tool out there)

Why a 10 megabyte Rhino file!!?  Why Python?

It's not clear to me at all what problem you are trying to solve?  It it orienting section curves relative to the curves from "Omegas generate"?  Without a 'Target (B)' input to 'Orient', what do you expect?

P.S.  I see now that you started a new thread instead of solving this problem in your original thread.  Sorry I bothered to look at this.

simple.... you just needed to tell it where to get the new point from surface from.

(I haven't bothered uploading the file, I thought you could just copy the connection highlighted in the screenshot.)

Positioning at the middle of the line isn't actually what you want.... You just want the extrusion to pass through this point... You actually needed to rebuild the line for the extrusion.

I've tidied up the screen shot so you can reproduce it and get a feel for what is happening.

You should note that some lines are actually running in the reverse direction, you may wish to neaten that up for consistency so they run in the same direction. It doesn't show once the extrusion has happened because the components I put in just tell the profile to be placed at the start of the line and extrude it to the end of the line.

If you're going to rebuild the horizontals for consistency, it would be worth deriving them from the original surface U parameters. This will also create parallel edges to the top and bottom (Unless theres a technical reason for not doing so).

(left shows Using U parameters, Right shows as you have it currently.

The other advantage of the u parameter is you can easily do it for all four sides, join the lines together in a closed polyline, and the extrusion could do the miter corners for you - (you will place the profile at the centre like what you originally were going to do.)
