Hi Malachi,
the second error (side-by-side configuration) is due to missing Microsoft Runtimes. Please follow the instructions on this page and hopefully the first error will go away too, if it doesn't, let us know.

Are you absolutely sure you installed the 32-bit ones, not the 64-bit ones? The bit-depth of your operating system does not matter, you always need 32-bit runtimes for Rhino4.

I'm wondering if I should hose/uninstall the redistributable C++ 2005 currently loaded? and then try reinstalling vcredist_x86.exe or does it require the .msi installer? any suggestions?

I have almost an identical problem however after I install the runtimes the problem still exists. I am running a 32 bit PC and Rhino version 4.0 SR9, 9 March 2011 Evaluation. Have you got any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?
Thanks,
Dave
