Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am trying to create a workflow that I can use to automate the process of producing several iterations of the EnergyPlus analysis engine in a single run. I seem to have a working model, but am having an issue with my envelope components.

The first issue is that the wall surfaces (those not assigned as adiabatic) do not seem to be running properly as the results indicate zero energy transfer across these surfaces. The glazing seems to be working correctly.

My second issue is that I want to be able to vary the U-value (etc.) for a custom glazing component, but every time I enter a new value the prompt about updating the library causes a hiccup in the automation aspect of this exercise.

Any input would be very much appreciated.

Hi Jamison,

Sorry! For some reason we all missed this one. I just saw this, cleaning my inbox. In case you're still wondering.

1. Do you have a surface with a very high R-Value? I have tested a couple of example and it works fine.

2. You don't need to add the materials/constructions to the library each time if you're using the full string (and not the name of the material/construction). They will be added to the library automatically once you apply them to a HBObject.
