Connect grasshopper to MySQL

I´m new to grasshopper and have a question.

Is it possible to connect grasshopper to a mysql query?

I'm sure it's possible with a VB or C# component. But I've never written SQL code so I have no advice on where to start.

Do you want to extract data from a database, write data to a database, respond to changes in the database or...?

I have a database with about 80 tables on it, so i wanna connect to the database, make 5/6 different queries, extract the info and use it as an input to grasshopper.

I have just realized that I will want to do something like this, starting a new project. I have not tried anything yet, but just wondering if you had any luck with doing this?

If not, I do think it will be possible through a kind of 'ad hoc' method of connecting data through a .txt file.

Using something such as Python to connect to mySQL, make the queries, save them into a string to create a .txt file. Then Grasshopper can stream the contents of that file.. Very dynamically too.

I will give this a try in the next few days if there isn't any attempt in VB of C#
