Component problem rhino 4 to 5

Hello,

I installed another component in my rhino 4 grasshopper component folder and I would like t use it also in rhino 5. In rhino 4 it works perfectly but when I open rhino 5, not every installed component appears in the tabs.

What am I doing wrong? I am pretty sure it worked well a while ago, ...

Any idea and help is much appreciated!

I am using rhino 4 and rhino 5 on a 32bit system, both newest releases. For a workshop I need to work with GH v8.066 cause the plugin didn't run on the new GH release so far, ...

Hi Sebastian,

it's not a good idea to put GHA files into the ProgramFiles\RhinoX\Plug-Ins\Grasshopper folder. This folder is controlled by the installer and will be wiped when a newer version is installed.

If you're merely loading GHA files, I recomment putting them in the Grasshopper AppData folder. You can find this folder via the File->Special Folder->Components Folder menu item.

If you're developing GHA files and you want both Rhino4 and Rhino5 to load them, you can add a search path to Grasshopper using the GrasshopperDeveloperSettings command.
