automatic anthropometry

The title is a little ambitious. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with scanning a mesh into Grasshopper and using any type of markers to find points on the surface. QR codes, color dots, infrared lights that aren't in a kinect's dot field. This could be a great aid in acquiring automatic anthropometry in grasshopper?
