Attempting to create Buckminster Fuller's "Fly's Eye Dome"

Hello everyone,

I am attempting to recreate Buckminster Fuller's "Fly's Eye Dome", does anyone have a relatively simple definition for the peculiar shape??

Interesting dome, I hadn't seen this variation before.

You can get pretty close to it with StructDrawRhino/Grasshopper, although the "stressed" surface has more of a ridge than I'd like. Hope it helps regardless, installation instructions for StructDrawRhino outlined here:

Splitting the dome faces with the circles. I never found a satisfactory means to do this without reverting to a script or solids, maybe I'm missing something?
